LAND USE CHANGE MEETING

For all those interested, we are going to hold another meeting on March 8th at 7:00pm regarding the R-10 to R-6 land use change.  The Planning Commission Staff is going to present their findings to the Planning Commissioners in April.  Before that meeting the Commissioners need to be assured that the neighborhood had several meetings to illicit the affected property owner’s input so they could actively participate in the formulation of the recommendation for the neighborhood.   We want your participation because this is your neighborhood.

COME AND GET INVOLVED!

We have vacant seats to fill on the board and need to begin the process of locating and electing some new leaders.  While we have made great strides over the past 6 years, this may be time for us to re-evaluate our purpose and function.  At this point in time, we should be open to new ideas and new projects. In addition to filling the open board seats we would like to recruit some of our neighbors to chair committees.

Open Board Meeting on March 14th
We are going to try something new this year.  We plan on holding open board meetings approximately one month prior to each of our quarterly general meetings.  This will be a smaller forum which will provide the opportunity to discuss issues in more detail.  The meetings will be open to any resident.  You will have input on the newsletter and the ability to discuss issues which affect you.

We will try to schedule these board meetings in the reading room at the Jan Platt library, however the first one will be held at 7:00pm at the Fendig Library on Neptune and Henderson.

Helping out the Association doesn't take as much time as you would think and it is a rewarding way to meet some of your neighbors and to be informed as to what is going on in your neighborhood.

We are a volunteer organization largely funded by donations from our residents.  Please don't forget to send in your annual donation for 2007.  Ten, Twenty, or even Twelve Hundred dollars will be greatly appreciated and help us to continue with all of the great events and projects we are involved with.  Thank you for your support.

The Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough County (EPC) is inviting the homeowners in our community to participate in a campaign that will save money and improve our air quality!  EPC's Smart Driver program is a voluntary initiative that explains how by properly maintaining your vehicle you will achieve better gas mileage and reduce the amount of harmful pollutants emitted into the atmosphere. Call them today at (813) 627-2600, extension 1066 or, visit their website at www.4smartdriver.org for more information.
